Midterms -a nightmare come to life. An inevitability hat every student would face. More than signifying that exams and deadlines are fast approaching, it also means that time is running short for every student who wishes to come back from setbacks like low exams. And this is why these hacks are prepared and thought of, to help and remind us to chill and de-stress every once in a while, especially a very stressful week A.K.A. self-care!
BEFORE
Find your motivation.
Even before the hell week, it was important to get ready and get your defenses strong so that you could face all the headaches coming your way. That’s why you need to find something that motivates you. May it be seeing your family, your dogs, your friends, a reminder of your dreams. Take and digest it. Even meditate so that you could internalize it. This is to make sure that whatever happens during the wave of the midterms, your head will stay afloat and that you will keep on going on despite of how hard it is.
DURING
Taking a walk.
Reviewing for an exam can take a lot of energy out of us. It can literally drain us -physically, mentally and emotionally. It can also be suffocating at times to be in a confined space for a long time just thinking and trying to digest all the information from your lessons. Walking even just outside your dorm, taking a breath after hours of studying can help it a lot. It will help remove even just a bit of exhaustion and oil your mind for more studying lessons after.
AFTER
Giving yourself a reward.
Being drained out of energy is not a very good feeling. And midterms bring out exactly THAT feeling. That is why it is important to bring that energy back after a heavy week. Eating your comfort food, binge watching your favorite series, sleeping for 10 hours or simply going out with your friends are good ways to reward yourself for all your hard work.
