UNPLUG

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes.

With all these academic requirements we have in college, it is almost impossible for one to find time to spend for relaxation. Overloaded with those deadlines, we often just choose to type on our laptops, or just review for the courses we are taking instead of taking time to breathe and have some peace of mind. However, as I begin to grasp the idea of being a college student, one thing that I have realized is that college should be something that should help as grow as individuals, not something that would made us suffer. In relation to this, we as the students should also understand that we still are people who needs to value life, not robots who just follow what others dictate us to do. You have to rest if college stresses you out because almost everything will surely work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, and that includes you.

So, as a college student, how can we unwind and forget our academic problems? Here’s a list of things that might help you if you want to experience a peace of mind, even if it’s just for a short period of time.

Eat The Food You Like

In college, food has been the first thing that always comes to my mind whenever I experience stress. I eat what I want to eat, and treat myself for all the hard works that I did. Sometimes, spoiling yourself could benefit you a lot. There goes the satisfaction, and eventually could result to a better comprehension when doing academic loads, again.

Watch Series

Although I am not really a fan of all the series I see on the internet, I included this on the list as I became more inspired with the characters that were able to excel in their chosen professions. Their depiction of real life scenarios would put you in a rollercoaster ride of emotions, not knowing when or where you’ll stop. It is engaging to follow the lives of the fictional characters, especially if you aspire to be someone like them in the future.

Have Some Alone Time

I enjoy being alone sometimes as it allows me to think of thoughts that I could not make whenever I am around with a group of people. It’s the time where I can talk to myself, weigh the things that I am doing, and breathe for a moment. Maybe that might help you if you want to have some peace, or be away with people that adds and puts pressure to what you are already carrying.

Play The Sports You Like

As someone who enjoys being engaged in physical activities, sports has been one of the things that help me to enjoy my college life so far. It is the time where I could meet new people and do things I normally cannot do on a daily basis. It is a good way to unwind, except the part when you’ll wake up the next day and you have nothing but a body that hurts so bad.

If you’re going to ask me when and how can you allocate some time doing all these stuffs, I really do not know the answer. Instead, just think that this is the last stage of you being a student. After college, you cannot escape the realities of life. So have fun as long as you can, and enjoy as much as you can. Unless you caged yourself with all the stress in academics, you will realize that college is more than learning inside the four corners of the classroom.
