An Open Book Chapter

This semester is almost over and I am thankful that I have gained a lot of knowledge through the experiences I have undertaken. However there are still points for improvement.

I am still in awe of the fact that I have survived a semester in the country’s top university. One semester feels like a year for it really literally and figuratively drained my energy yet it is quite a memorable experience. If only I have been more prepared about foreseeing the things that will happen, I might have been more focused.

Here is my letter to my old self as a first time university student:

“Hey there! I know exactly that you are scared of going out and venturing into a whole new environment. I also know that you have anxieties and you are pressured to maintain the academic standings you have once established but dear I want you to know that in college you have your own pace and time. It is not about who finishes first, it is about self discovery and to which you can improve yourself thereafter. I want you to know this 5 tips in order to survive the semester: study harder because everyone else is smarter than you; avoid procrastination as much as possible to stop prolonging your agony and to have time for revisions; give the best in everything so that you may never regret about its results; surround yourself with positivity for a negative mind will never give you a positive life, and lastly; love yourself by rewarding yourself for the efforts you have done. Remember you did your best, thus, it is enough. I love you and you will do great!

College life is really a big ocean, either I will drown and sink at the bottom or help myself by swimming. I know that this is only the beginning of the fulfillment of my dreams so I have to keep on moving forward. This will be an open chapter of the book I am making for it is not yet done. May this serve as a lesson and inspiration for me to do better in the coming semester. Likewise, I would like to encourage you all to also refuse to be just an audience to your own life rather be the scriptwriter of your own existence.
