I have quoted myself because I am indeed my greatest opposition. I am the one who will counter my mistakes, and eventually learn from it.
In my one semester in the College of Development Communication, have I changed? Did all my vision come to play, or am I still the mediocre one who thought he knew all?
As I read my week 2 blog, there is this optimistic Miko that I see. So cute, in that sense. Now, i feel like im struggling to end the semester. The optimism slowly vanished as it slowly being eaten by stress, anxiety, and results of every exams I have taken. But would these things stop me?
NO!
I have seen myself as able. Able to write news, able ti imaging audio-visual materials and put it in to work. I was able to pass all my requirements on time. But as it was reflected in my grades, it seems like I was not good at all. It was sad and frustrating.
Today, all the worries I had during the semester will be thrown away, and will just keep all the learning that I have gained during the semester. All these things will equip me to be a better writer a better communicator as I face new devc courses.
I am hopeful that these hardships of mine will turn into weapon to be better in things i will conquer. I may not be the best now, but I will surely try my all to be a better communicator and a writer, so that what I have rated myself today may be surpassed as I continue my journey in this college.
So, to you, self, KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO IT, and YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT.
It is so good to reflect about all the wrong things you have done during the semester. XD
Lemme start to be hypocrite right now. heheheh
As I always say in this blog, it is my second year in the university, I should know more than my classmates with all the pasikot-sikot in the university. But why am I keep on failing to do stuff I should do.
Well, another semester is about to start.
These FIVE Things I should consider doing once more are tips or should I say what kept me sane during my stay in the university.
1 SET YOUR PRIORITIES
This is where I am failing. I have been trying to make lists, like post it notes, notes in my phone, and all those stuff but I still end up being sabog. I HATE IT.
So hey, Miko. Set your priorities first. It isnt so hard. ACADS >>>>>>> Lakads
Knowing what to focus on will make you do your tasks in order. Give time to more urgent work, if it can’t be finished in one sitting, try to do small tasks in between which do not need too much effort. After doing such, continue focusing on that big thing. You do not realize that you are creating progress little by little.
small progress count!
Ain’t it fun that you’re slowly getting rid of the things that you need to do when you put focus accordingly??? IT IS FUN!
You’re doing it right now, Miko. Go on!!!
2 DO NOT CRAM!!!!!
You’re doing it right now, Miko. You are CRAMMING! Yakkk
I mean, you had a lot of time these past few days to do this, but you just laid down. Hibernated yourself. Now, you’re doing it. But yeah, as i have said in the first tip, progress is progress.
I believe we got enough time to study, and do all the things if we try to make our priorities matter. So, yeah. I feel like this should be in the first tip, but whatever.
Just remember that you are not a robot
Take time, at least a week in doing your academics. It is literally NASA HULI ANG PAGSISISI if you looked at your exam paper and realized that if you have studied well and gave time to review, all should have been well.
3 SOCIALIZE
Maybe, some people can live by themselves. But you CAN’T. Talk to people. It will be your job in the future.
I know myself to be like talks to people if they talk to me first. But that seeks arrogance, and/or coldness. I know I am not, but that is how people perceive you to be before they go to know you.
You need people to be with in college, or even in your classroom. Last semester, you do no have a same classmate in any of your subjects, it was quite hard being alone. You do not have someone whom you can ask assignments to. SO yeah, improve your socialization skill. You will need that.
4 POWER DRESS DURING EXAMS
I know this might a little bit petty, but since my freshie days, I tried to dress a little better during exams. I do not know, it gives me a little confidence. Ika nga-
babagsak akong pogi
But of course, I do not like to fail. This added confidence because of what I am wearing kind of helped me during these sad times. Sometimes, I do not have time to mourn after some exams, so looking good (in my perception) helps.
I, myself, used to be a student-athlete when I was in my Junior and Senior High school. I was a player of table tennis. (Oh, how I wish to play it once more) I was really fund of joining different sports meet. I meet new people, play with them, and fight with them. It was an experience I would like to do again.
but being a player during college, I DO NOT KNOW.
It was all fun during high school for we are excused in the class. Any missed projects and requirements were sufficed by achievements and medals you have gained during the competitions. But as I observed with few of my former and current classmates who competes outside the university, there is a gap between the acknowledgement they give and the learning they got inside the school.
So, as we, the DEVCOM Explorers, tried to speak with the devcom athletes who competed at the recently concluded STRASSUC, we were able to know what are their few tips how to juggle academics and sports in this University.
Episode 4: How To Balance Academics and CO-Curricular Activities
So, as we have gathered, these students set their priorities first before even going to do things outside their academics life.
I am inspired by their tips about how they balanced their time with in doing such hectic activities. I am hoping that I will be able to be good at both and represent the university in the upcoming sports event.
Approaching HELL WEEK!!!! AAAAhhHHhhHh Every body run to C-Park and try to feel the breeze of Christmas, and feel and see the the lights as it was unveiled to the public in UPLB’s Annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony.
The DEVCOM EXPLORERS will show you how the UPLB prepared Christmas decorations that will lessen the stress that the students is experiencing.
Episode 3: PASKO SA ELBI!
Us, Explorers also interviewed few students and families about what they look up in the coming of the Christmas and their expectations about it.
The Christmas village in the campus is located near the UPLB gate and is open to the public.
Every late November until December, people come and go in the campus to check out its decorations.
It was unfortunate of me that I do not know Devcom when I signed up for UPCAT. So I put science courses when filling up programs in LB campus. But as I wander around the university in my first year last year, I realized that I am for DevCom. Now, I am slowly building my understanding to what Development Communication is all about. For whom is it, and what is it.
The DEVCOM EXPLORERS interviewed few Devcom students and practioners to know what is Development Communication for them.
A cradle of great known heroes – Jose Maria Panganiban, Miguel Lukban, and Wenceslao Q. Vinzons.

THIS IS CAMARINES NORTE
I LOVE MY PROVINCE. I want it to be known, I want it to be recognized. We are not CAMSUR, We are CAMARINES NORTE.
I am not featuring Talisay, my town, because it is small, and very rural. I basically live nearby the border of Talisay-Daet, Daet being the Capital of our province, so I am rarely in my municipality. I also want to feature Camarines Norte because I am a LOUD and PROUD CAMNORTENO. ❤
Sadly, I was not able to go home during the long weekend (All Soul’s Day and All Saint’s Day) because of the time constraint. I was not able to go to my home. It was sad that I am the only one in our apartment left. My roommates were from the same province as I am, but they were able to go home because of their availability. I had a lot of acads to to by those times.
Anyways, another sad part was that I was not able to ask them to take photos or videos of our beloved province. They were busy with their family with a little time on hand. Nonetheless, I tried to search online the available resources to be able to showcase my province to y’all.
Luckily, one of my favorite shows, Byahe Ni Drew, featured our province not long ago. Well, I wanted to be Drew Arellano, for he travels to the places around the Philippines. That is one of my dream jobs tho. So here it is.

I hope you had a glimpse of what Camarines Norte has to offer. xoxo
Funny how we ought to write things like to be chill when personally i cannot chill.
This is UP. If you are chillin’, there is something wrong.
It feels like mali ang walang gawin dito. Pangalawang taon ko na rito at ilang beses na rin ako nagchill, at nagchill din ako nung nalaman kong pasahan na pala ng ibang outputs within the day. Ang galing no???
AGAIN, AS ONE OF MY PREVIOUS POSTS SAID, do not be like me.
And after i got the literal CHILLS after i found out that i had to pass something, i go home, do the job, thank the Lord for the prof who gave an extension without giving point deductions, rant on socmed, and finish the job.
then, i sleep
I think that here in UP, sleep is a reward. I mean, you can be so good at time management to have enough sleep. I adore you for that. But for us normies, i believe that chilling = sleeping.
