Ano ‘yan, may pera ba jan?

Ano ba ang DevCom?

Ano ba trabaho mo pag-gradweyt mo, may pera ba jan?

These are the common questions I/we often receive as students of Development Communication. Even I myself cannot define it at first but not until I started learning what and how DevCom works. This short AVP is purposely crafted to help us answer those questions.

What is DevCom?

Even before I entered the university, a lot of people would ask me about my course. I would just respond in a short simple manner since I do not really have an in-depth knowledge about Development Communication. However, as the semester is gearing to an end, some of the most common questions about DevCom are already being answered and taken into account. We hope this video answers your questions and the questions of others as well.

“Development Communication? Ano ‘yun?” #exploringdevcom

If you’re a DevCom student, you would know how hard it is to explain to your relatives and friends what you are studying about or what you will do after you graduate.

“Development Communication? Ano ‘yun?” is the most common question we encounter as a Devcom students. The usual answer we Devcom major would give is “it’s similar to mass communication and communication arts, but is focused on the marginalized sector,” it’s more than that, but it’s the easiest answer to understand.

For me, Devcom is looking at your community in a different angle, beyond the norm, beyond things that have been going on, things that no one seems to notice and do anything about.

There are still a lot of questions about Devcom and we made a video about it!

Let’s watch the Episode 2 of the Devcom Explorers as they feature the top 3 most common questions about Devcom from family members, neighbors, high school batchmates, and friends.

DEVCOM? Ah COMM Course.

It was unfortunate of me that I do not know Devcom when I signed up for UPCAT. So I put science courses when filling up programs in LB campus. But as I wander around the university in my first year last year, I realized that I am for DevCom. Now, I am slowly building my understanding to what Development Communication is all about. For whom is it, and what is it.

The DEVCOM EXPLORERS interviewed few Devcom students and practioners to know what is Development Communication for them.
