  1. King of buck
  2. South style flava
  3. Hybrid buck
  4. Next attraction
  5. Squammies
  6. Street kings
  7. NDGC vengeance
  8. Nazty boys
  9. G7
  10. Scammaz

Interviewee: Sobrang saya po namin kasi first time po kaming nanalo at first time din pong nagawa yung grupo namin.

Wuz good?

For our week 2 entry, we assess ourselves by rating our qualities and skills as a media writer and here are the previous results:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1w3GWYVS9lPyI053efw1qea4zERHpFf5u

and now that the semester is about to end, here is my updated assessment of my qualities and skills as a media writer:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1vDotTDz_a0UcuXRBl53W4e06Q-zxjPff

https://drive.google.com/open?id=15zt7hZOurtvtQk0vFyQOilMtk2eKjQXy

As you can see, most of them have improved but some are not, and those improvements still have not reached its maximum capability. This explains that my first semester in development communication had helped me enhance my qualities and skills but still need a few upgrades.

My time here in development communication has been a stressful but fun journey. It taught me a lot about different things, it added further knowledge on the things I do know already plus it showed me things I have no knowledge about, particularly in the present social issues. Indeed, it was a memorable journey, a one for the books experience.

Have I changed?

I am the biggest opposition of myself.

Me, 2019

I have quoted myself because I am indeed my greatest opposition. I am the one who will counter my mistakes, and eventually learn from it.

In my one semester in the College of Development Communication, have I changed? Did all my vision come to play, or am I still the mediocre one who thought he knew all?

As I read my week 2 blog, there is this optimistic Miko that I see. So cute, in that sense. Now, i feel like im struggling to end the semester. The optimism slowly vanished as it slowly being eaten by stress, anxiety, and results of every exams I have taken. But would these things stop me?

NO!

I have seen myself as able. Able to write news, able ti imaging audio-visual materials and put it in to work. I was able to pass all my requirements on time. But as it was reflected in my grades, it seems like I was not good at all. It was sad and frustrating.

Today, all the worries I had during the semester will be thrown away, and will just keep all the learning that I have gained during the semester. All these things will equip me to be a better writer a better communicator as I face new devc courses.

I am hopeful that these hardships of mine will turn into weapon to be better in things i will conquer. I may not be the best now, but I will surely try my all to be a better communicator and a writer, so that what I have rated myself today may be surpassed as I continue my journey in this college.

So, to you, self, KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO IT, and YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT.

The One with UPLB’s Christmas

Last November 19, 2019, various people visited UPLB’s Annual Christmas Lightning Ceremony with a title, Pasko Sa Elbi: Isang Pasasalamat.

The Campus’ entrance way features radiant and warm decorations such as the gigantic tree embedded with various christmas balls and ornaments, a lifesize Belen, and the bright and colorful pathway that highlights this year’s theme, Paskuhan sa Barrio.

This is a group output created with John Gherald Navera (UV-3L), Ray Anne Germia (UV-1L), Alexandra Gesmundo (UV-1L), Lawrence Neil Ebueña (UV-2L) and Daniel Mapanoo (UV-1L).

NuLab: Moving Forward

UPLB was one of the chosen universities honored to be visited by the two educational buses- The Science Explorer and the NuLAb- brought by The Department of Science and Technology- Science and Education (DOST- SEI) on November 11- 15, 2019.

The success of the The Science Explorer, led to the launching of the second science bus, the NuLab. It is primarily intended for senior high school students.
Equipped with a huge interactive board, individual monitor for students, laboratory-grade equipment, wireless sensors and more, nuLab offers a modern mobile learning environment that can help pique students’ interest in the sciences. It can accommodate 24 students in one session and hold two sessions per day.

The NuLab caters more scientific topics and offers simulation of activities that researchers actually do in the field. The facilitators were researchers and most of them are PhD degree holders.
NuLab tour was a great experience and has left a huge impact on the students to explore more about space science, entomology, mathematics, and science communication.
