The Reason for This Season

It’s the most beautiful time of the year. It is yet again the season of love and giving. We celebrate Christmas in our different ways. Our family never misses a mass when it’s Christmas because we believe that the reason for this season is Jesus Christ. We also buy gifts for our relatives and friends. After attending mass, we will feast on different dishes prepared by my uncle and desserts with love by my mother. I love Christmas because it reminds me of Jesus Christ being born to save us from our sins and it is a season wherein families gather and bond together after a long time.

Everybody knows the power Christmas holds. The season is like full of optimism, forgiveness, giving, and love. It’s like problems suddenly vanish when Christmas comes. I think Christmas has the same effect as Jesus Christ. When he was born in this world, he proclaimed happiness, forgiveness, and giving in our world. He did not give us blessings, He is the blessing. When Christmas comes, we should use our time wisely because it’s not everyday that our loved ones have spare time. We should give willingly because it is better to give than to receive after all. We should spread good vibes all around the world but most especially, we should not forget the reason for this season.

Merry Christmas!

Am I a flower that bloomed–or withered?

I believe we all have our autumn-like days.

And for me, that is perfectly okay. Looking back, I wrote in Week 2 that I need to further improve my qualities and skills as a writer. It still holds true today. Reading and writing isn’t my forte. Doing the lab exercises for DEVC 11 was not easy for me and most of the time, I do them under pressure (by cramming) just to finish the exercise.

However, I did like what I did.

I remember having fun doing the AV script for TV news. It was stressful and will take a lot of your time due to the frame by frame analysis. But when it was my time to do my very own AV plug, I had challenges but nonetheless I received favorable comments from my lab instructor. I believe it was the highest score I got out of all the exercise I did. I then realized, writing is actually fun if you know what you are doing.
