City of Valenzuela

Valenzuela City, named after the physician and Katipunan member, Pio Valenzuela, was once a part of Bulacan province. Now, it became a 1st class highly urbanized city in Metro Manila with a wide array of industries and establishments. Have a sneak peek of my vibrant hometown through this video.

BAY-AN KO

Bay is one of the oldest towns in Laguna province and was the province’s first capital. Laguna de Bay is also named after it. The town was originally called “Bae” but later on transformed to “Bay”. Nevertheless, residents still prefer to call it “Bae”.

Bay was really a not famous town. Sometimes others would recognize it by associating it with Los Baños or Calauan.

But Bay, really, is a town its own history and beauty… so come and see what BAYAN NG BAE has for you!

Home of the Hero

Calamba, Laguna: The home of Jose Rizal. It is the city with cleanest air in Southeast Asia. It is where the nationalistic and brave characteristics of a hero ignites. We are one, We are Calamba. Buhayani!

Calamba is located in the east by Laguna de Bay, in the north by Cabuyao, in the south by Los Baños and in the west by Sto. Tomas and Tanauan in Batangas.  It is only 54 kilometers away from Metro Manila, the city is rich in industries, hence the influx of migrants.  Considered as the heart of CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) due to the numerous number of companies housed in its area, Calamba is the premier industrial hub outside of Metro Manila. Pasig, Di Padaraig!

Unwind

A workload of a college student is no joke. There are weeks wherein you have a bunch of things to accomplish and weeks wherein you will question why you have so much time on your hands. For the former, there is a need to rest, chill, and de-stress to stay healthy- mentally, physically, and even psychologically.

How to unwind:

Treat yourself

Treating oneself can come in many forms. May it be finally buying the food you’ve been eye-balling all week but your budget said no, getting that 6 hours or more of sleep, watching that K drama/TV Show/Anime/Movie you’ve been putting off, or hanging out with your friends. It’s the reward you deserve after working so hard.

Exercise

Exercise is proven to improve one’s well-being and reduce stress. Going to the gym is not essential. You can jog or brisk walk around the campus, and you can even attend Zumba sessions.

Go outside

Staying within the four corners of a room can be suffocating. Go outside, sit down on a field, and relax. Seeing a new environment free from any thoughts of academic-related things is relaxing. It’s one way to chill and de-stress.

Lucban, Paraiso kong Bayan

Halina’t maglakbay sa aming munting bayan. “Yanung rikit baling ganda”.

Where else would you find a beautiful province with a rich culture, friendly people, and delectable cuisine? Considered the heart of the Philippines and the gateway to the south, Iloilo is much more beautiful than one would expect. Visit Iloilo and experience a culture where the past meets the future and life is in harmony with nature.

“In the beginning there was no Philippines… But there was Butuan.”

Hi there! I am Yngrid Denielle P. Comiling, your fellow batch mate hailing all the way from the Land of Promise, Mindanao.

Now, let me welcome you to the Historic City of Butuan: Home of the Balangays! The city that has seen over 1,687 years of recorded history and considered by many historians to be “The Prehistoric City of the Philippines.”

Fun fact: It’s But-wan and not bu-tu-an.

Allow me to give you a glimpse of my beloved city through a video about my short trip last Nov. 1-4.
