San Pablo City, or “Sanpy” as what my fellow Gen Z people would like to call it, is a first class city in Laguna. It is known as the “City of the Seven Lakes” since you can find the Sampaloc, Bunot, Yambo, Pandin, Mojicap, Calibato, and Palakpakin lakes (Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to visit the most of them for the video since they are far from each other).
Back then, I couldn’t appreciate our city as I’ve always wanted to leave it (“Nakakasawa” for me). But now that I’m in college, going back home every weekend is a dream come true. With this video, I would like to show you a glimpse of my hometown.
There are times when students have to face a pile of studying and deadlines, which often results to stress piling up as well. To combat this, we must learn how to let go of stress and chill. Here are 3 ways I find beneficial when fighting stress on hell weeks.

Stop worrying and give yourself some time to relax. Go watch some videos of your favorite YouTuber and just chill. Letting yourself take a break is beneficial for your productivity which sounds counter-intuitive. But doing so will let you remove your mind off things and when you get back to studying you will be able to do more. It will also prevent you from reaching your burn out point.
So go ahead and watch some YouTube videos and chill!

“Eating can raise your spirits when you are low, soothe you when you are tense, and distract you when you are upset” – Ellyn Satter.
Stress eating might sound bad, but it’s really great! It’s often called emotional eating because some use it as a coping mechanism. It’s not bad if you don’t overdo it, make sure that you don’t overeat! Just get yourself some comfort foods and let your stress be drowned in your belly.
But remember, don’t overdo it!

We often associate places with stress or bad things, so go around places that will relax you. Go to a garden or hang out with your friends and travel together. Travelling doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll go somewhere far. You just need to go somewhere away from stress and calm down. Be happy where you are and leave your worries behind.
Remember when doing these 3, you’re not running away from your problem, you’re just letting go of the stress. We all must face our problems or even our demons and when we do any of these we are actually forgetting about the stress, not the problem itself. We are just recharging our batteries and getting ready to fight again.
Above all, we must PRAY and surrender our worries while doing anything that removes stress.

I was born and raised in a place just neighboring Los Baños; Calamba city, Laguna! Allow me to take you to the heart of Calamba while I tell you its rich history, the city also known as the birthplace of our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. I assure you, it’s more than just the resorts and the SM. 😉
Yo guys! This is Dane Christian Pido Morena, your Mindoreñong Devcom Isko.
I am an 18-year old development communication student from University of the Philippines Los Banos. I am passionate in hosting events and parties, speaking in lectures and talks, travelling in different places, playing volleyball, and radio and television broadcasting. I am also a boyscout in our province and I engage in science and environmental organizations when I was on high school.
I grew up in Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro. This town is subdivided into seven barangays: Concepcion, Malpalon, New Dagupan, Poblacion, Poypoy, Tanyag and Iriron, my home barangay.
The most famous tourist spot in Calintaan is the Mount Iglit–Baco National Park, a protected area of the Philippines and an ASEAN Heritage Park. The park has also been nominated in the Tentative List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The park’s vegetation consists primarily of grasslands, lowland Dipterocarp forests, and montane rainforests on the higher slopes.
The tamaraw (Bubalus mindorensis), also called the dwarf water buffalo, can be found in the open grasslands of the national park, only in Mindoro. It is the largest native land mammal in the Philippines and one of the most seriously endangered animals in the world. The tamaraw resembles the carabao, only it is smaller and its horns are shorter which grows upward in a letter “V” form. Its dense hair covering is dark brown to grayish black. In 2018, 523 tamaraws were spotted in the protected area. Now, there are only 480 tamaraws left in Mindoro.
Mt. Iglit is also the home to the Mangyan people. The word Mangyan generally means man, woman or person without any reference to any nationality. Social scientists have documented Mangyan tribes into several major tribes. One of the ways to categorize them is through their geographical location. The Northern tribes include the Iraya, Alangan and Tadyawan tribes while the Buhid, Bangon Batangon and Hanunuo Mangyan comprise the tribes in the South. The Mangyans depend on the park for their subsistence, where they engage in traditional farming and hunting for food. There are also areas of grasslands turned into pastures, as well as areas of slash-and-burn agriculture.
In Occidental Mindoro, we celebrate the Arawatan festival. Arawatan is a native term among the Mangyan that connotes “unity”, “cooperation” and “helping each other”. This is an annual historic event in Occidental Mindoro where all the people of my province are strongly unified. The usual celebration highlights exhibition of Occidental Mindoro’s natural attractions, agricultural, coastal and marine products, street dancing, fairs, sports, competition, and recognition to achievers or outstanding performers of the province.

As an isko or iska, stress is often common to experience. The loads of school requirements on top of various tests that needs studying, is not a cup of tea and is a handful. It can definitely generate anxieties and an echoing pressure, which can cause a person to have a breakdown.
De-stressing is an important way to cool off those steams produced by these various factors. It can also prevent us from further harm in our physical and mental health. Finding ways to chill is such a necessary action to help an individual cope with stress and balance his/her inner well-being.
Seen below, are my five ways on how I completely de-stress and chill, to let out all those stress and anxieties.
Food is great way to de-stress and fill yourself up with happiness. It honestly brings me joy and it makes me smile to eat my all-time favorite food which is the Black Pepper Burger of Minute Burger topped with my favorite beverage which is an iced coffee. It is good to treat yourself with your favorite food and drink and to experience the undeniable pleasure it gives.
Pampering yourself is one of the best ways to chill and de-stress. You can treat yourself with a relaxing massage or a nice mani/pedi session and even give yourself an entire spa day. Pampering yourself can also be inexpensive that will not empty out your wallet. You can do it at home by executing a refreshing skincare routine consists of sheet masks and moisturizers. Always remember that self-care is highly important!
Watching my favorite movies and tv series is an essential part of my ways of chilling. Watching an episode (or two) of the series I am currently hooked with, serves as my activity when I’m on a study break. It helps me ease my mind while still enjoying knowing what’s about to happen in the story.
My friends are just the best in taking my mind off of things and just helps me let out my stress. Bonding and being with them is enough to take all my anxieties away. I can fully become myself whenever I’m with them and our hours of being together, filled with endless laughter and juicy “kwentos”, is a great way in easing myself up to all those stress and pressures.
Sleep, to me, is by far the most important way to de-stress and chill. It is scientifically proven to be a key of a healthy well-being and is a part of our daily routine that is highly needed in repairing ourselves. Waking up after 8 hours of sleep or even to just an hour of nap is a superbly satisfying feeling. It is just incomparable and tremendously important to each and everyone of us.
I am from the northern part of the Philippines. Born and raised in the province of Isabela, from the lands of Cagayan Valley. Isabela is filled with happy people and this place definitely contributed to who I am today. I hope you get to enjoy our province as much I do. Tara, sabay-sabay nating tuklasin ang ganda ng Isabela!
A cradle of great known heroes – Jose Maria Panganiban, Miguel Lukban, and Wenceslao Q. Vinzons.
Abode of diverse and magnificent people. A land from the Northwestern portion of the Bicol Peninsula.
I LOVE MY PROVINCE. I want it to be known, I want it to be recognized. We are not CAMSUR, We are CAMARINES NORTE.
I am not featuring Talisay, my town, because it is small, and very rural. I basically live nearby the border of Talisay-Daet, Daet being the Capital of our province, so I am rarely in my municipality. I also want to feature Camarines Norte because I am a LOUD and PROUD CAMNORTENO. ❤
Sadly, I was not able to go home during the long weekend (All Soul’s Day and All Saint’s Day) because of the time constraint. I was not able to go to my home. It was sad that I am the only one in our apartment left. My roommates were from the same province as I am, but they were able to go home because of their availability. I had a lot of acads to to by those times.
Anyways, another sad part was that I was not able to ask them to take photos or videos of our beloved province. They were busy with their family with a little time on hand. Nonetheless, I tried to search online the available resources to be able to showcase my province to y’all.
Luckily, one of my favorite shows, Byahe Ni Drew, featured our province not long ago. Well, I wanted to be Drew Arellano, for he travels to the places around the Philippines. That is one of my dream jobs tho. So here it is.
I hope you had a glimpse of what Camarines Norte has to offer. xoxo
I am from San Jose, the largest municipality in the province of Occidental Mindoro. You can get there by air or by land and sea. It is known as the “Gateway to the South” but it is more than that.
San Jose is gifted with diverse natural resources and is the second biggest producer of rice in the Southern Tagalog region. With our unspoiled white beaches, underwater paradise, and other captivating sights, our town is a promising hub for sustainable tourism.
I am happy to say that through the years, my hometown manages to maintain a laid-back vibe that’s perfect if you’re in the mood for relaxation.
